Flow With the River

Flow With the River Amara Reighley
Period 6

Sit back, relax.
Do not force the water with a paddle,
let the stream flow downstream as it wishes.
Feel the splashes of cold reality,
yet do not let them drown you.

When a storm hits,
let the rain pour down, feel sorrow
But never forget to feel
the warm rays of sun,
which broadcast down on you.

With rain, comes sunlight.
With good, comes bad.
Feel the balance around you,

sense the presence of
yin and yang
the black fish,
the white fish.

  1. I how your idea with letting things you can't control go their own way through the boat and stream metaphor. I also like the way your stanzas were grouped in small, centered paragraphs ; it gives the writing a nice structure.
