The Eye of the Tao

Tao Te Ching Poem by Ricky Barnes

The Tao sees all.
All can not see the Tao.
The Tao knows all.
All can not know the Tao.

When one wishes to see the Tao,
When one wishes to know it,
They will see nothing.
They will know nothing.

When seeing nothing
Your life will not be the truth you know
You will be blind to the truths of life.

When knowing nothing
You will be foolish and naive
You will be ignorant of what your actual needs.

Do not try and know the Tao
Only know yourself.
Knowing yourself ensures your happiness

And ensures flow with the Tao.

  1. I loved how you directly recreated the Tao poem. It was creative and showed that you truly understood what the Tao was
